FAQ

Product Information

Are your products made from solid gold and silver?

Yes, rest assured that all our gold products are meticulously crafted from solid gold, and likewise, our silver products are made from solid silver. We take pride in ensuring that the materials used align precisely with the product listings. If a listing states 14K gold, you can be confident that the item has undergone rigorous testing to confirm its authenticity as 14K gold. Our commitment to transparency and quality means that what you see in the product description is exactly what you’ll receive – genuine and of the highest standard.

How can I be sure I’m getting the real deal?

At LXL Jewelry, we only stock the highest quality gold and silver products that you can find in New York, and nothing less. But, don’t take our word for it – Each purchase comes with a complementary (free!) XRF Elemental Composition Report that will tell you the exact purity of each piece, down to the elemental level.

What is an XRF Elemental Composition Report?

XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) is a cutting-edge scientific method that determines the elemental composition of a material. These results are then printed as a report and delivered to you along with every purchase. Top of the line science, at no extra cost.

I am looking to find more information about a particular item, how can I get that prior to purchasing?

We aim to provide all the relevant information for each particular piece, including length, width, weight, metal purity, structure, etc., showcased in various pictures, etc. However, if there is anything else you’d like to know about a particular piece, please contact us and ask. We will happily measure or provide any additional information as needed to help you make an informed purchase

I’m looking for a particular style or a different size, can you find that for me?

We are constantly trying to stock items and provide as much variety and options as possible. However, certain times of the year might leave us with less stock and options than normal. Please, if you have any requests or suggestions, contact us, and we’ll work diligently to see what we can find.

Can I request a certificate of authenticity for my purchase?

Certificates of Authenticity, lacking meaningful oversight in the jewelry industry, do not provide substantial assurance. Instead, we prioritize transparency. With each purchase, you receive an XRF Elemental Composition Report. This exclusive report, derived from cutting-edge scientific methods by a third-party system, is a service only accessible to dedicated jewelers genuinely invested in ensuring the highest quality. We provide this report at no extra cost, showcasing our commitment to delivering the utmost transparency and value to our customers.

Where is your jewelry made?

For the most part, our jewelry is either crafted in Italy or right here in the United States. Occasionally, we may stock items made elsewhere that meet our rigorous quality requirements, but that is not the norm.

Why is the weight of my item slightly different than listed?

In general, that shouldn’t be the case. We take great care and weigh items on a per-batch basis to ensure the most accurate weights are reflected on the website for any given batch that’s listed. However, due to manufacturing processes, the actual weight on a per-item basis might differ very slightly. If there are any issues, please contact us. In general, please allow for up to a 0.5-gram margin of error in either direction.

Why is the width of my item slightly different than listed?

We measure items on a per-batch basis, and due to the manufacturing process, actual width might be slightly different on a per-item basis. Additionally, diamond-cut or other ‘refractive’ cut items tend to have slightly different widths across the length of the whole item due to the cutting process. This is normal, and wherever applicable, all our measurements are post-cut measurements rather than pre-cut measurements. Please note, in general, please allow for up to a 0.3-millimeter margin of error in either direction. This might result in odd millimeter measurements, but we try to be as accurate as possible to ensure full transparency and inspire confidence.

Pricing Information

How are your prices decided?

In general, we strive to keep our overhead as low as possible to provide the fairest possible prices, always and without condition. For example, for our gold jewelry, we take the manufacturing cost (supplies, labor, transportation, insurance, etc.)—the price we pay—and apply the lowest sustainable markup. Operating on razor-thin margins, we aim to keep it that way while providing free priority shipping and complimentary XRF Elemental Composition Reports for all purchases, offering tremendous value and a uniquely satisfactory experience for all our clients.

I checked the current per-gram price online, and your price appears to be higher. What’s the reason for this difference?

Yes, that is correct. There is a specific cost associated with manufacturing and transporting each piece of jewelry. Some items cost more to manufacture than others, but keep in mind that while jewelry pricing is based on the price of gold, it’s not the only factor. Labor, transportation, manufacturing costs—all contribute to the final price. We can’t price match the raw per-gram cost of gold at any given time. The closest you’ll consistently find to that price is by purchasing bullion. Nonetheless, we firmly reject the Keystone pricing model prevalent in the jewelry industry and will always offer the lowest possible price we can.

What is Keystone pricing, and why don’t you use it?

Keystone and Triple Keystone pricing models, prevalent in the jewelry industry, involve doubling or tripling the cost of an item, respectively, from what the retailer paid. This approach allows retailers to seemingly offer significant sales—think 50% OFF—during key periods while still maintaining a substantial margin on the item. Additionally, such pricing models enable the enforcement of “lifetime” warranties by charging customers at least double the cost upfront, unbeknownst to the customer. At LXL Jewelry, we firmly reject Keystone pricing, opting for rightly priced items and avoiding large blowout sales that indicate an item was completely overpriced to begin with.

Why does store X have this item at a lower price?

Several factors contribute to another company offering a lower price, including valid reasons like stocking up on items while there are lower gold prices or operating on lower margins. On the less favorable side, some companies might compromise on gold content, selling gold that is substantially below karat, or marketing gold-filled or plated products as solid gold. They may also surprise you with shipping charges once you reach the Checkout screen or engage in bait-and-switch tactics by sending you a substantially lower-weight item while listing it at a much higher weight. At LXL Jewelry, we continuously refine our item procurement processes to lower costs, passing on the savings to our customers. Our commitment includes offering insured fast and free shipping, along with providing complimentary XRF Elemental Composition Reports on all purchases, ensuring that the displayed price aligns with what customers receive, and the stated purity is precisely what they get. Never anything less.
